Whenever I mention that I work from home, people immediately assume I must work in my pajamas. Or sweatpants (I hate sweatpants, btw!). Like these are the ONLY comfortable work from home clothes a girl can wear.
But let’s be honest, when there are SO many casual outfits available, there’s no need for me (or you) to look sloppy in our home office, right?
When I first started blogging, I found the idea of working in my pajamas as seductive as anyone else.
It didn’t last long though because I soon realized I needed to feel somewhat professional to be productive. I went on and bought a few work from home wardrobe essentials so I can dress the part.
When working from home, temptation is literally around every corner. Repeated trips to the fridge (not good for the waistline either), midday naps and Netflix marathons can really mess up with your flow.
But in my experience, every little helps. It all starts with the things that are nearest to you – your clothes.
So I’ve rounded up some of my favorite work from home pieces below. They are casual yet chic and I hope they add some comfort and style to your wardrobe. Because you can keep it cozy and productive at the same time.
They work great year-round and are comfortable enough to wear all day.
I love wearing a neat top because there’s nothing more awkward than answering the door for the delivery person in tattered clothes.
They are low maintenance and I always feel gorgeous in them. Plus I can look chic and confident at a moment’s notice.
Maybe not something to wear the whole day, but they are definitely a quick fix in case an Instagram-worthy photo moment comes up. Plus skirts always make me feel more put-together if I have to run an errand.
Can never go wrong with an empowering tee, right? In fact, I love a motivational T-shirt so much that I wear them all the time.
I LOVE to wear oversized sweaters during fall, winter and early spring. They are so cozy and you can never be too
Easy to put on, I always keep a poncho nearby when I’m sitting at my desk, in case it get a bit chilly.
Quirky slippers & fluffy socks
They are one of the joys of working from home. They also make video calls way more fun.
Statement pieces are not only fun but a form of self-expression. How we dress impacts how we feel about ourselves, and that feeling gets easily reflected into our businesses.
I hope this post inspired you to put on something nice and wear your favorite clothes indoors as well. Working from home can feel lonely, but you can cheer yourself up and boost your productivity by literally dressing the part.
