There’s no denying entrepreneurship is tough and female entrepreneurs face many unique challenges. We undervalue ourselves and our time. We are programmed to do everything for others and expect nothing in return
But it’s time to take a stand and put ourselves on our to-do list. And that might start TODAY with something as simple as spending 15 minutes in the company of an uplifting book.
This is a list of inspiring books written by women for women. They are relatable and empowering. And they are the best books for female entrepreneurs I’ve come across. Happy reading!
Best books for bloggers and entrepreneurs
Girl Code by Cara Alwill Leyba
I’m seriously obsessed with the beautiful message Cara shares in this book. When I first started the Blog + Biz Babes group I craved a sense of community and belonging. I believed it was possible and my expectations were exceeded by far. Girl Code stands for the exact same things I believe in – that when we stop tearing each other down and start lifting each other up, life gets better and we grow stronger. After all, one woman’s success doesn’t mean another one’s failure. If anything, it means that a better life is within our reach.
The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins
I adore Mel and I adore this book. The 5-second rule is so ridiculously simple yet SO effective. This is the ultimate book for getting off your butt and taking action. And, hey, we all know that articles won’t write themselves and clients won’t just come knocking at our virtual doors if we don’t start putting ourselves out there, right? Mel is a great motivator and will help you kill your procrastination and push you into becoming the most productive version of yourself. Your dreams are just on the other end of 5-4-3-2-1!
Get Over Your Damn Self by Romi Neustadt
Although targeted at people in direct sales and network marketing, there’s SO much any entrepreneur can learn from Romi’s book. I’ve run my highlighter across its soft pages more times than I can count and I’ve noticed my mindset shifting with every chapter. She’s obviously walked the walk and then spelled out all the steps in a no-nonsense language. Moreover, her book is a reminder that we need to give ourselves permission to ask for help and take care of our bodies and minds along the way.
The Universe Has Your Back by Gabrielle Bernstein
Entrepreneurship can be stressful and scary as hell. And the worst part is that more often than not, it’s our own mental blocks and limiting beliefs that hold us back. But what if we could step into our greatness by simply tapping into the power of the Universe? Gabrielle’s book is more on the practical spiritual side, but it’s a gentle reminder that we are surrounded by love. In her own words, ‘We separate from the love of the Universe by giving purpose to pain and thinking power comes from outside sources.‘ Magical things start to happen when we entrust our success to a Higher Power.
How to Style Your Brand by Fiona Humberstone
A strong brand is like a love affair. Both you and your clients need to be in love at the same time. Brand identity goes beyond the logo, and it has the power to attract the right people. A gorgeously designed book, Fiona created a must-read for any female entrepreneur just starting out or who has fallen out of love with her own business and needs rebranding. You will learn to find your focus, connect with your audience at an emotional level, and create something extraordinary. I’ve found the beautiful examples included very inspirational.
